What a find! I’ve just been given a box full of old family photos by my very kind and trusting neighbour. She heard my book project required old pictures, but she didn’t think hers would be any good. How wrong she was. It felt like Christmas when I was handed them. I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole village heard my screams as I delved into this box of treasures.
Many of the images are taken over 60 years ago, here in the village of Castelvecchio, Pescia.
Part of my book project is to do something interesting with old images taken in the local villages and now I can’t wait to get cracking!
This 1960’s bright orange bread bin left by Otello, the 94 year old previous owner of my house, served as an ideal backdrop to take a few photos to show you all.
There is so much work involved for me in these images. Firstly I must figure out which ones I want to use in my book, I wish I could use them all. Secondly, I will digitally clean them a little. Thirdly, I must find the original location of each image. Then its all systems go for me and my camera. Very exciting!
