A perfect holiday home/rental potential in Tuscany.
Only a couple of hundred yards from the piazza in the centre of a medieval hilltop village, this modern bungalow nonetheless sits secluded and un-overlooked on the prow of the hill. Spectacular uninterrupted vistas of the surrounding countryside are to be had from its garden and terrace, as well as framed in the property’s many windows. To the East you see the sun rise over the beautiful densely wooded hillside on which the village of Monte di Casa perches; to the West where it sets, the village of San Quirico is visible on the other side of the Pesciatina valley; and from the balcony you can see the village of Vellano, and from the terrace you look down the valley past another medieval hilltop hamlet towards the plain below.
The bungalow itself is a modern construction, with finely crafted details: bare wood doors and frames, stone tiled floors, a high quality fitted kitchen and a modern bathroom. The front yard, onto which the living room-kitchen opens via a 3.5 metre double leaf folding door, is fringed on one side by the property’s olive grove, which extends for over a hundred metres downhill, and is shaded by two mature cherry trees. A side door and a French window open from the bedroom onto the substantial rear terrace, which affords ample room for spring and summer al fresco dining overlooking the olive grove. During the Winter months double glazing, central heating and a wood burning stove keep the house cosy and warm.
Sorana, famed for its bean farming, shares the unspoilt, lushly forested valley through which the river Pescia flows with nine other ancient hilltop villages, forming together the dieci castella or ten citadels of the Pesciatina. Visitors to the village have a wealth of historic architecture and monuments to discover within the natural splendid of the valley. In Sorana itself, the villagers give visitors a warm and friendly welcome, whilst the village environs boost a choice of three very good family restaurants that are popular with the locals, with more dotted among the other villages and further amenities a short drive away at the foot of the valley lies the local town of Pescia.
With its serene setting, extensive outdoor areas and beautiful surroundings, this bungalow is a unique and ideal location for rest, relaxation and recuperation. It would make a fantastic vacation rental investment.

Location information -
The cottage is in a great spot for eating out:-
5 economic family run restaurants/Cafes
* 2 of which are in the village down in the valley below
* 1 in the village higher up (agriturismo)
* 2 in opposite villages (one of them serves on the roof-top in summer)
1 cafe/shop in the village, walking distance from the cottage.
3 of these restaurants serve workingmans lunches, which means one can have a 3 course meal for 10 Euros at lunchtimes Monday – Friday. The food is catered for the locals not tourists, therefore, one gets to eat like an Italian.
The Town of Pescia has an array of shops/cafes/restaurants/pharmacies/supermarkets/grocers/etc. Train/bus station. 15Mins by car.
There are festas in the piazza throughout August where one you eat/listen to entertainment. And because the cottage is on the edge of the village, they can’t be heard from there.
Services
There’s a bus service that takes you into town, runs 5 times a day – very handy for those not using a car.
Local Taxi service, very reliable, especially for catching your flights/trains.
3 Post offices – one in the opposite village, one half-way into town and one in town.
Petrol station can be found on your way in and out of town.
Great location for those not wanting to be too far from town, however, far enough to enjoy the serenity, peace & quiet.
The house can get internet. The owner first used a key via Tim and paid as she used it, and got a really good signal compared to other people in the hills, and she now has Eutalia broadband which works extremely well. So anyone buying the house can set up an account no problem.
The current owner does not use the landline telephone, but there are telephone points in the house so a contract could be set up. Those who use Eutalia can take up the option of having a telephone line with them.
Also, there’s a wireless internet connection in both the cafes in the cafe/restaurants below.
The village itself boasts serene & picturesque walks.
In the valley below, just outside one of the restaurants, one can sit outside in a picnic area, beside the bubbling stream. And in summer bathe in the stream.
